DC Universe Classics: Green Lanterns Classics Black Lantern Abin Sur
After a recent hunt I stumbled upon my local Toys "R" Us and the Green Lanterns Classics Wave 1 of the DC Universe Classics. I was looking for that wave for some time and had finally found it....well all of it but Kyle Rayner my most wanted from that line. After some math and the hard decsion of wich ONE figure to buy I settled on the Black Lanter Abin Sur.
I love this figure. He has the most exquisite detail with shading and sculpt. His head is very zombie like as it should be and his body is thin and gangly like the risen dead he is. His ring has the logo sculpted into wich was an enexpected supprise. And the colors are fantastic. The white isnt quite white its an off white/grey and the black is a mild flat black with silver stripes on the thighs. His Articulation is the best part of this figure. His head rotates 360 degrees up and down, his shoulders rotate fully in and out with a bicep swivel. His elbows are jointed at two points with the wrists totating fully and pivoting up and down as well. He has 2 joints in the body one at the chest and one at the waist, his hip joints are capable of moving forward and back and out to the side by quite some bit. His knees are single jointed witch was a slight disappointment with the elbows being double but it doesn't bother me lastly his ankels wich have one point allowing forward and back.
As for his accessories he comes with the head and lower torso of the Collect and Connect of the wave Arkillo. Not alot but thats fine with me.
In all this figure is fantastic. DC Universe Classics makes great figures and they are gettin better all the time. I do plan on completing this wave and finishing the C&C Arkillo figure and future waves to follow.

Kamen Rider OOO (Ozu) Capsul Toy O-Medal Sai Core
Kamen Rider OOO. The latest incarnation of the Kamen Rider franchise, and with a new series comes new toys. Today I have for you the Gashopon/Capsul toy Sai Core O-Medal. This version of the Sai Core Medal is almost exactly the same as the DX Sai Core that comes packaged in the OOO Core Medal Set 2, but with a few minor differences.
First the similarities. Both the DX and Gashopon versions have diecast outter rings while the Candy Toy will be all plastice. The color on the 2 current versions (DX and Gashopon) are a milky white with some amount of translucency allowing you to make out the chip that activates the lights and sounds in the belt, but the Gashopon seems to be slightly more opaque.
Now the differences.
Not alot here. The only difference between the DX and the Gashopon is the back. The DX has a single line that indicates its a "Head Metal" while the Gashopon has a series of stars. It is assumed that the stars represent the release of the O-Medal with 3 stars being the frist and subtracting one star for each release after.

I won? No flippin way!
Mountain Dew had a promotional tie with Bungie for the Halo Reach release last November. The premis of the promotion was to collect codes from the caps of various Mountain Dew products. I like so many others entered with the hopes of winning big. Well after some time I just gave up on it and forgot about it. Some time later I got a package in the mail, with no idea of what it could be. Upon opening it I found a note and a copy of the Limited Edition of Halo Reach sayin that I had won a prize from the promotion. I couldn't believe it, I had never won anything.....ever and winning this was mind blowing. I was so amazed by all the little extras that came with it.
To see what all comes with the Limited Edition version of Halo: Reach please see the review on my YouTube page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_IZwcCfLwg

My Custom Halo Reach helmet.
Well as some of you know I have been working on a Noble 6 style helmet from the new Halo Reach video game for Xbox 360. It started as a pepakura(paper craft) model that I got of of the 405th.com site. The 405th is an awesome site for making armor weapons and lots more from Halo video games and more. They also have tutorials for people just gettin started in pepakura, its a fantastic and helpful site
Anyway here are some photos of the helmet through the stages. I'm not quite done yet, I still need to purchase a motorcycle visor and some padding to finish it off. It's not perfect and it is my first attempt at this but I'm quite proud of how it turned out.
The Pepakura stage:
The Helmet resined on the outside and fiberglassed on the inside.
The helmet durring the body work. Lots of bondo and sanding.
The fist stage of paint.
The final paint job. I went with a custom paint scheme based on the WWII nose art they had on planes.
If you want to learn how to make a helmet or armor from Halo or other video games or movies please be sure to visit the 405th site fourms on pepakura. http://www.405th.com/forumdisplay.php/14-Pepakura-and-Cardboard-Armor
